MEGA STRIKE

You can only take so much piss. So I support a New Zealand where educators and health folks are paid and/or supported enough to not burn out or leave for Australia. I support the voice of the caring professions who ask for safe staffing levels and support, well-before increases to their individual remuneration.

I DON’T support that, when the caring professions decide they must finally give our odious machine a little kick for the good of NZ health and educations’ future, public money is spent to suggest they’re selfish slackers who don’t put patients & pupils first and are just looking for an oversized pay bump.

Please be mindful of divide and conquer politics, highly-targeted and unregulated online content to press your buttons, wealth inequality, and how the billions hosing out of the NZ economy every year could pay for everything our caring professions ask of our society (and far more).

Doctors, nurses and teachers are our enemies now? Really? Whose purposes does that serve? I’m not entirely sure, but I know it isn’t me, my family, the wider society of NZ, or any of our futures.

It’s all too hard for me to keep track of, this erosion of everything. So I circle back to the basic tenet; who’s doing the most for those with the least? That rising tide will lift all boats, and we’re all one accident closer to poverty than wealth every day.

I don’t know why ‘they’ want all this piss, but I reckon there’s not much more piss left to take.

So I support the caring professions, as they fight to live a good life here while caring for us and our kids. Surely that’s the least the rest of us can do.

If we attack those who look after us at our weakest and most impressionable, we’re truly lost.
